Deako Intelligence requires three things: Deako Connectors™ installed in your walls (one per switch location), Deako Intelligent Switches that plug into those Deako Connectors, and a Deako Intelligent Hub. If you already have Deako Connectors, you just need the switches and hub. 

For circadian lighting capabilities within Adaptive Lighting, you’ll also need Matter over Wi-Fi, Zigbee, or Thread-compatible color tunable bulbs. 

For Follow-Me sound, you will need Wi-Fi connected speakers like Sonos, JBL, Beats, KEF, WiiM, and others.

If you have Deako Connectors already installed, setup is plug-and-play. The Deako Intelligent Switches plug directly into the Connector. No electrician, no tools. Most people have their first room up and running in minutes.

If you don’t yet have Deako Connectors, you’ll need a licensed electrician to replace your existing switch boxes. Once Deako Connectors are installed, every upgrade is plug-and-play going forward.

 No — a single room works and delivers value immediately. But the more rooms you cover, the better the whole-home experience. Path prediction, habit learning, and multi-room features like Follow-Me Sound and Intercom improve significantly with full-home coverage.

A standard passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor detects movement — when something crosses its field of view. Stop moving, and it thinks you’re not there. mmWave radar is continuous and volumetric. It actively measures the space in front of it and detects presence, position, and movements. It knows you’re in the room even when you’re completely still.

You’ll notice meaningful improvements within the first few hours. The system needs enough data to distinguish your patterns from random variation — weekday versus weekend, your schedule versus your family’s. By the end of the first week, the predictive model is substantially personalized. It continues to improve over time as your routines evolve.

Always. Any light can be controlled manually at any time — via the switch, voice, or Deako app. Manual overrides are noted by the system and inform future predictions if they happen consistently.

Entirely on your Deako Intelligent Hub — a local device inside your home. The model is trained on your data, on your hardware, in your home. 

The radar produces sensor readings: location coordinates within the room and movement velocity. It does not produce images or video. There is no footage of any kind from the radar.

Yes. Per-room privacy controls let you disable any sensor — radar and microphone — in any room at any time. Bedrooms and bathrooms can run radar-only with audio disabled, or be excluded entirely.

Deako Intelligence supports all modern Deako devices along with certified Matter over Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and Thread devices. That means smart lighting, thermostats, blinds, contact sensors, and other compatible devices connect directly to the Deako Intelligent Hub and become part of the same intelligent system. 

Follow-Me Sound works with Wi-Fi connected speakers like Sonos, JBL, Beats, KEF, WiiM, and others. 

Yes. Deako Intelligence tracks multiple people independently using radar. Each family member can have their own audio stream, their own lighting preferences (in future person-aware updates), and their own dashboard access for features like Parent Care.
