Your New Smart Switches

Your D.R. Horton home purchase comes with 4 Deako Smart Switches. You should have received your switches already, but if you haven’t please contact us at support@deako.com.

With your new switches you can do things like:

  • Put outdoor lights on schedules so you never come home to a dark house
  • Add timers to bathroom fans so you never forget to turn them off
  • Use with Amazon Alexa

With Deako, installing a light switch is easy and safe. No wires or tools needed!​

Step 1: identify your light switch

Identify the light switch you want to customize and pull the faceplate from the corners to remove.

Step 2: pull the blue tab

Pull the blue tab at the top of the switch toward you.

Step 3: remove the switch

The switch will pop out. Remove and set aside.

Step 4: plug in your switch

Plug in your Deako switch and push in the blue tab.

Step 5: replace the faceplate

Replace the faceplate and voila! You’ve installed a Deako switch!

Step 1: download the app

Download the Deako app from the App Store or Play Store.

Step 2: install your switches

Install your Smart Switch by plugging it in to your desired location.

Step 3: pair your switches

Pair your Smart Switch with your Deako app by following along with the walkthrough in the app or watching this video.

Pro tip

When you’re naming your lights, make sure you have a system that you and other members of your household will easily understand. It can be helpful to be specific and use terms like “kitchen cans,” “kitchen sink,” or “island pendants” rather than using “light” for each area. This is particularly important if you go on to integrate your Deako smart products with a voice assistant.
